Planet Walker by John Francis
5 Stars for this one. The writing kept me intrigued from start to finish, constantly creating vivid images of his travels. I do not want to spoil anything but it leaves the reader with a feeling of empowerment and desire to experience the world. It is the story of a man that goes from nothing (a lack of education and wealth), experiencing an oil spill in the San Fran bay, giving up motorized vehicles, and taking a vow of silence. After numerous years of walking from the West to East coast, John Francis receives his bachelors, masters, and PHD all while striking against motorized vehicles and not speaking a word. Bottom line, if there is any book that will verify the belief that you should do what you want, this it it.
